Travel + Leisure asked real estate experts to identify U.S. cities where buyers may still find relative value before growth, demand, and limited supply place greater pressure on home prices. I was pleased to contribute perspective to Lydia Mansel’s article, “9 U.S. Cities to Buy a Home in Before Prices Soar, According to Real Estate Experts.”
My comments focus on Houston, Cincinnati, and Cleveland. Each market reflects a different version of opportunity, shaped by affordability, employment growth, housing options, and quality of life.
Houston remains attractive because of its broad economic base, with growth across aerospace, technology, biotech, energy, trade, manufacturing, and health care. Its lower cost of living, business environment, and diverse arts and food culture add to its appeal for buyers considering a move.
In Ohio, Cincinnati and Cleveland continue to draw younger residents and businesses seeking more attainable housing, varied housing stock, and neighborhoods benefiting from revitalization. Their lake and river settings, cultural assets, and more balanced pace of life also factor into the decision.
Thank you to Lydia Mansel and Travel + Leisure for including my insights in this informative look at markets buyers may want to watch.
