Brick Underground article titled “What New Yorkers need to know about moving to Jersey City”

by Leah Hochbaum Rosner

Plan on moving or visiting Jersey City take a read of Leah Rosner’s recent article.  Generally speaking, Jersey City is “close to Manhattan and easily accessible by public transportation.   Furthermore, Jersey City is a good alternative for buyers who are priced out of New York City.

In the last decade, Jersey City has undergone a development boom that’s given rise to a new condo and rental buildings (most of which are more affordable than what you find in Manhattan).  Additional benefits from the boom are new restaurants, bars, and shopping.  Therefore making Jersey City an attractive option for New Yorkers looking to trade up, and for those who couldn’t afford to live in NYC, to begin with.”

“Jersey City benefiting from new development and a rich restaurant/culture scene is transforming the landscape,” Kostiw says. Furthermore “While the aggressive urban renewal began in the 1980s along with the Jersey City Waterfront and Downtown districts, it has exploded this past decade, and now other areas are beginning to benefit.”
